About

This page started out as the companion page of Kontoyiannis House, our traditional stone built family house in Kalavasos village, Larnaca Cyprus.  The house was originally built by our grandfather in the 1890’s.  He was a wealthy landowner who raised his family of 9 children in the house, they lived mainly from the land and when times became hard in the 1950’s some of the children emigrated to UK, US and AU.

The house was inherited by Polixeni one of his daughters and in 1994, she decided to restore the house with the help of her husband Andreas Tsangarides.  They were introduced to the Agrotourism scheme run by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation and decided that this would be a great way to keep the spirit of the house and the Kontoyiannis family alive.

The house is currenlty run by John, his sister Christalla and her husband Panayiotis.  They do their best introduce the house, the village and Cyprus in general to visitors.  More about us ……….

This started out as the information website for Kontoyiannis House but is packed full of lots of informtation for anyone interested in visitng Cyprus.
